New High-speed Communication Firmware “OP-FW12GA” Supports UART and PROFIBUS

LINEEYE CO., LTD. releases the new firmware “OP-FW12GA” for LE-8200/LE-8200A, which supports high-speed communications such as UART/PROFIBUS/HDLC/SPI.

[ Background ]

LINEEYE released “OP-FW12G” which supports high-speed HDLC/ CC-Link/ SPI communications for LE-8200/LE-8200A since 2008. However, “OP-FW12G” does not support UART communication, which is widely used for various modules and microcomputer at high-speed.

[ Outline ]

“OP-FW12GA” is the firmware for LE-8200/LE-8200A added some functions on “OP-FW12G”. It supports high-speed UART (general ASYNC communication) and PROFIBUS (Fieldbus) up to 12Mbps.

  1. Supports communication speed up to 12Mbps.
    Supports high-speed UART (ASYNC) and PROFIBUS.
    (LE-8200/LE-8200A without it measures up to 4Mbps(half-duplex))
    Firmware OP-FW12GA OP-FW12G
    HDLC Yes Yes
    SPI* Yes Yes
    UART (ASYNC) Yes No
    PROFIBUS Yes No
    * OP-SB85L is needed to measure SPI.
  2. Records high precision timestamp. Minimum: 1μs.
    Records elapsed time from starting the measurement when receiving a frame.
  3. Transmits pre-registered test messages up to 160 kinds.
    Simulation function can transmit 160 kinds of messages by pressing the keyboard.
    * For TTL/SPI simulation, “OP-SB85L” is needed.
